Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Susan Ledgerwood
I was born in Montana and my first memories are of looking on the Mission Mountains in my hometown. Work brought my parents to Oklahoma where I have been since 1974. Education was an important part of my upbringing and I was fortunate to be raised in a school system about the size of Drumright which is why the Drumright School District feels like home to me. I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1993 with my Bachelor of Science and received my Masters of Special Education in 1998 through the University of Central Oklahoma. Special Ed is my passion and I have been blessed to teach students for 23 years in a variety of districts, but I feel like Drumright is the best school district!
I have two grown children from my husband's first marriage and 7 grandchildren! I love writing and often write in my spare time. My love for writing began when I would send letters to my grandmother who lived in Mississippi. My first letter to her was when I was two. It was a scribbled picture of a duck. I only know this because my mom wrote the word "duck" on the picture. I wrote my favorite letter to her when I lost my first tooth. I wrote, "I lost my first toot!" She kept those letters and years later gave them to me. Now that she has passed away, I treasure the few letters she saved and the many letters she wrote in return.
I am proud to be a Tornado and am so excited for this school year! I am eager to see the strides my students will make over the next year! Great things are happening in Drumright Public Schools!
