Upcoming activities for September 14-19

Bradley Elementary students enjoyed some of their new equipment today. Bradley Elementary successfully completed the OSDE Competitive Grant to receive additional funding for our PE program.

We were excited to welcome John and Kristin Chaquica all the way from California today as they toured our schools and saw firsthand the impact of their investment in Drumright Public Schools!
John and Kristin are the investors who made it possible for our district to install solar panels, providing a long-term investment that will benefit our schools, students, and community for years to come.
We are incredibly grateful for their support and for their willingness to invest in the future of Drumright Public Schools. It was a pleasure having them on campus today and getting the opportunity to personally show them our schools and say thank you!
We appreciate John and Kristin for believing in Drumright Public Schools and investing in our Tornadoes!

Dear Tornado Families,
We want to make you aware of a serious safety situation that occurred this afternoon at Bradley Elementary at approximately 3:28 PM, shortly before dismissal.
Two students reported hearing another student state, “I have a .22 in my backpack.” The information was immediately reported to the principal. The student was promptly separated from other students, and the backpack was secured and searched.
No firearm or weapon was found in the backpack or in the student’s possession.
Our immediate priority was ensuring the safety of our students and staff. Drumright Public Schools takes any statement or report involving a weapon extremely seriously. Our staff responded immediately and followed district safety procedures. The Drumright Police Department was also notified.
We especially want to recognize the students who reported what they heard. We continually remind our students: if you see something, hear something, or become aware of something that could be a safety concern, say something to a trusted adult immediately. Today’s situation demonstrates exactly why that message is so important.
We appreciate the quick response of our students and staff and the continued partnership of our families as we work together to maintain a safe learning environment for every student.
Sincerely,
Dr. Angela Avila
Superintendent
Drumright Public Schools
Tornado Families,
The City of Drumright has notified us that the main gas line has been struck, disrupting gas service throughout the community. Repairs could take up to seven days.
At this time, Drumright Public Schools will continue our regular school schedule. We are working closely with Keystone, our food service provider, to ensure students continue to receive healthy breakfast and lunch options each day during the outage.
We will remain in communication with City officials and will keep families updated if there are any changes that impact school operations.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility.

Drumright Public Schools Families,
We have been notified by the City of Drumright that they will need to temporarily shut down a gas line in order to make repairs in the area of the truck route.
Drumright Public Schools will continue with our regular school day. All school lunches have already been prepared, and students are beginning their regularly scheduled lunch periods.
At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to the school day. We will continue to monitor the situation and will communicate with families if anything changes.
